Two Australian decorative painters Lea Davis and Carolyn Ballantine formed Ballantine & Davis Pty Ltd , which also trades as National Paint Away.

Since 1996 Lea & Carolyn have bought international teachers to tour Australia. This has broadened the outlook of many Australian painters, the teachers have been inspirational and very talented.

In 1997 Lea & Carolyn were appointed the Australian Coordinators of
DecoArt's Helping Artist Program.  DecoArt is committed to assisting the
artists, authors, teachers and designers in the decorative painting industry
and does so with product support and a number of services. Lea and Carolyn
ensure that the program runs smoothly here in Australia and  has allowed Lea & Carolyn
 to connect with many Australian painters they would not have met otherwise.

Lea & Carolyn are well known painters in their own right, with a combined experience of over 30 years. Both are authors, Lea has published seven books and Carolyn has published one. They have also been published extensively in Australia's most popular decorative painting magazine, Folk & Decorative Painting.

Despite their busy schedules, Lea and Carolyn continue to teach both locally, nationally and internationally.

In 2002 Lea & Carolyn have taken on their biggest and most exciting venture yet - publishing some of Australia's most talented artists.  Their first book  published is by Queensland artist Jo Hercus

2004 has seen the publishing of the latest Conversion book - "Convert It!"
